The more I study the history of Christianity, the more Catholicism makes sense?

Some Protestants are not very familiar with the history of the Christian Church before the sixteenth century. So it's not a matter of not wanting as much as it is about not knowing (much) about things such as early Christianity, patristics and related matters.
