World history help?

I think I know the answers to these four questions. Japan was settled from Korea in ancient times. Then there was a period where China exercised great influence in Japan. Japan, consisting primarily of four main islands in a crescent formation, is slightly smaller than California, which is similarly crescent-shaped. Japan is very mountainous because of its volcanic origins. Mountainous terrain represents barriers, so government will be regional. Zen Buddhism is based on meditation.
