Fraudulent activities?

Ok so last month we decided to have a rent to own home. put in about 10 grand , chase comes knockin on our front door lookin for victor, we dont know a victor - appartly he is the actual owner of the home , talk to the "owner" that we know of and he says that the paperwork just hasnt updated. ok fine thats just a common mistake, this month we have a notice in the mail from a attorny victor is still the owner and the house is about to be forclosed on? talked to the bank - they say talk to the police- police say it could be paperwork isnt done - called the attorney who sent the letter - they say victor is still owner and they cant release any more information than that becuse i would haft to have his ok , everyone is also sayin i should be lookin for a attorney myself, but i have so many days to return the paperwork to the atterny if i wish to continue livin on said property, and my "rent" is also due to the person we thouht was the owner? im just stuck in the middle and i dont know what to do i dont want to loose this house, but im soo confused becuse its two people sayin that they are owner? what about all the money i invested in this?
